Owner of Accelerate Driving School.
I qualified as a driving instructor in 2009, since qualifying I have improved my skills as a driving instructor. I passed a BTEC Level 4 in Coaching for Driver Development, which was run by the Tri – Coaching Partnership. I then trained to be a Driving instructor trainer, and went on to be an Ordit instructor trainer.
I have also been an National trainer for the Institute of Advanced Motorist for motorbikes, I was one of the first people in the UK to pass the new test at the time with a 1st top marks. I continue to take CPD as things are always changing in this industry, I like to keep up with new techniques and ideas. I have always tried to give my pupils top quality coaching and training. I like my lessons to be client centred, which is reflected in the instructors who I train and then join the company. This has helped me build a great reputation for the company, with the help of my instructors. We have been rated the best driving school in Bath and surrounding areas, by Www.threebestrated.co.uk for the past 3 years.
Ken has been an instructor for 7 years. He enjoys passing on over 30 years of driving experience, including spending the majority of that time as a professional driver ( PCV & HGV). He takes great satisfaction in developing thinking drivers. Ken spent his twenties in catering management and a large part of these roles involved the Training and Development of staff.
Tim Martin trained at Accelerate driving school, he now has the skills to teach pupils to a high standard. He has hit the ground running and and has had a lot of 1 st time passes already. Tim has a lot of experience on the road driving in his last job, he has a very relaxed manner with good communication skills. He covers the Bristol area driving a manual Renualt Clio.
David is another ADI who did his training to become an instructor at Accelerate Instructor training, David was really committed and passed with flying colours. David covers the Trowbridge and south side of Bath, he has a very relaxed personality and enjoys helping his pupils to pass their driving test to become independent. David drives a manual Ford Fiesta another easy car to drive.
I’ve been helping people improve their driving skills since summer 2015, and its been a whole lot more fun than the office based jobs I did for the 33 years before then.
I have met some really interesting people driving and I still get a huge amount of job satisfaction when someone I am working with achieves something new. Its not just about the final pass, (although I’ve helped 106 people pass so far) there’s lots of milestones to celebrate along the way.
Personally, I enjoy holidays and try to spend as much time as I can with family. I have a allotment where my wife and I grow the best veggies in Bristol. After sitting in the car all day its good to get out in the open air!
Andrew Bush trained at Accelerate driving instructor training in 2019 and passed all his 3 tests first time, he has a very relaxed teaching style but likes to make sure all his pupils have all the information they will need. He does this by sending out plenty of info before the and after each lesson, this helps them to prepare in advance for future lessons. Andrew covers the Batheaston side of Bath, he drives a manual Citroen Cactus at the moment.
Mick is the “newcomer” to our team.
He has been driving for over 44 years and first qualified as a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor in 1988.
Having relocated from London with his wife, Mick has lived in Bath for over 20 years.
Covering the BA2 and BA3 postcodes, he currently provides Driver Education in an Automatic Toyota Yaris Hybrid.
A firm believer that learning should be fun, but at the same time adapted to suit individual needs.
Brione did all her training with Accelerate driving instructor training, this took a bit longer than normal due to the Covid issues. She has experience dealing with the public, as she was a manager in the retail trade. She has a calm personality, also very detailed in her training. She drives a Toyota Yaris hybrid automatic and covers the Bath area.
